Marks Building
In 2012 the project was initiated for the repair, upgrading and restoration of this building with an extremely high heritage value. The building, originally designed by Herbert Baker & Masey in 1903, is situated in the heart of the parliamentary precinct and is home to the parliamentary opposition parties. The work entailed replacement of the roofs and windows, sandstone repairs, interior upgrade of the 4th & 5th floors and upgrading of services in general. Given its location with high-security restrictions and decanting of parliamentarian occupants, the project was a huge challenge from the outset. However, the appointed consultants, building contractors and the sub-contractors delivered a fine and successful end.
